Treatment options

There are three main treatment options in most head and neck cancers:

  • Surgery
  • Radiotherapy, sometimes given with chemotherapy (drug treatment)
  • Symptom management

The treatments are sometimes used in combination.

More specific detailed information of what these treatments involve will be discussed at clinic with you. Each has its pros and cons and you can discuss success rates and side effects before choosing what is right for you.
